Champion Auctioneers are everywhere…
Champion Auctioneers have you ever considered what makes a champion? Look up Auctioneers as we step back in history champions have emerged in so many ways and have influenced others to do more, be more and expect more. We have champions in human rights, sports, Nobel contributions and yes of course Auctioneers.
As Auctioneers we can focus on many different aspects of improvement and a huge factor in what we do is bid calling, but what about our responsibilities and duty to family, co-workers, and the public we serve. This starts with our moral witness and the integrity we owe ourselves every day as we undertake tasks that may be or may not me the most enjoyable part of our job. In turn when we respect ourselves we can share a higher respect for others and that can be vital in the development of a higher calling.
Champion is a Latin for the root word campio which means the victor in a contest, challenge or competition. We all strive to be the best we can be and if we want to be the champion then we must practice harder and be dedicated to our cause. This also may mean doing what us required of us at certain intervals or abiding by certain requirements placed on us by others. Case in Point: The requirements to fill out an application and not only understand the rules but also abide by those rules in good conscious. Making sure that we all compete on a fair and level playing field will insure the achievement is well worth the effort. How about the wiliness to answer questions or to pay the dues as required prior to contest deadlines? What about our true intentions, do they overcome our true desires?
How about being a champion for good cause? Do you advocate for a vision, do you want to propel the greater good of an organization? Well if so get involved and get started with the elbow grease it may take to accomplish the tasks at hand to be better, grow strong and believe in what you are doing. Heart felt actions maybe the cause of greater things to happen. As a part of our Auctioneers Association I believe that being involved is vital in the strength to grow our aspirations with action by doing and not just fast talk. The cornerstone for development starts within and can be expressed by being a part of the service requirements it takes to champion a cause.
As we start the New Year we must all ask ourselves what can we do to be better? As resolutions fly in and out of our minds, some we will keep and some we will hopeful to venture into maybe more than 24 hours. I would like to challenge each of you to be a champion in 2014? Enter Bid Calling contests far and wide, serve your Association by asking to be a part of the leadership or volunteer to be a committee member. This will not only help develop skills needed to fulfill the requirements of our organizations but this will fuel the inner drive we all possess.
