Grapevine, TX is a historic Tarrant County city full of inviting hospitality to tourists. The city of nearly 54,000 (2018) is minutes from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport offering exquisite lodging and entertainment. 

Grapevine dates back to the early 1840’s when it was a settlement named Grape Vine for the numerous wild growing grapes. In 1914 the name was condensed into one word by the post office. 

Today Grapevine is a hub of entertainment for residents and tourists alike. Head to Main Street, part of Grapevine’s Historic Downtown. Climb aboard the Grapevine Vintage Railroad and be whisked back into history in her coaches from the 1920’s. The railroad travels to the Fort Worth Stockyards, along the Trinity River and back to the stockyards. History traces the route as the tracks date back to 1891. Presently, one-hour excursions are rolling out Saturdays and Sundays. Ticket prices range from $10-$12. Check-in is 1:30pm.

Of course, if more history is what you yearn for, visit the Grapevine Historical Museum. Journey back in time to the Grapevine of the 1800’s through various exhibits.  Open free to the public Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm and Sundays 12pm-4pm.
