Lake Granbury Things To Do

Lake Granbury was formed in 1969 by damming the Brazos River. Striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, long-nosed gar, crappie, sunfish, channel and flathead catfish are plentiful in the lake.  Enjoy fishing on the glass-like water early in the morning, or participate in a fishing tournament.

Living Along Lake Granbury

Since there is 103 square miles of shoreline, there are many subdivisions and homes built along the lake.  There are over 1,000 boat docks and piers on property around town.  The lake offers so many opportunities for residents to have a great time, whether you are a family with children, single, or looking for a nice place to retire.  Kids go out on the boat with their friends and family and make happy memories; enjoy wakeboarding, skiing, jet skiing, tubing and more!  There are places to rent jet skis and other watercraft, like a pontoon boat or ski boat.

Timber Cove

Many subdivisions within Granbury are built on direct shoreline or on channels where you can just walk out to your backyard and fish.  Or you can live in a home so close to the lake without the lake-front price Timber Cove gated community in Granbury is a small community with only 93 homes and has it’s own private boat ramp for residents.  No hassle, easy access to the lake in  Timber Cove, beautiful custom built homes, and friendly neighbors is what draws folks to Timber Cove. The HOA fees are only $365 a year and there is even a “welcome committee.” So, when you move into Timber Cove, don’t be surprised a day or two later you will be welcomed by a friendly resident, giving you information about the neighborhood. Residents have special activities around holidays to include everyone, like a cookout and trick-or-tricking around Halloween.
